Introduction

This document contains each of the U10 age group training sessions for the Spring 2006 season. An outline of the training sessions is given first followed by the details of each training session. The Urbana Soccer Association Training Curriculum Volume 3 - Training U10s manual contains more information on the overall U10 training curriculum and the details for all of the activities listed in the training sessions presented here.

The following table outlines the theme of each of the age group training sessions for the Spring 2006 season.

For each, do once and count touches. Beat your score on the second try.

Juggling
2 minutes

Thigh/catch, thigh/thigh/catch, foot/catch, foot/foot/catch. Most in 30 seconds. Beat your score on the second try.

Body Part Dribbling
5 minutes

Call out body part for first few rounds, then just point.
Last player to touch ball with selected body part must do a silly task.

Stress for players to try Zicos, Spins, Screws

Use 4 goals to stress changing of direction. Stress for players to try Zicos, Spins, Screws, Fake Kicks

One point awarded for stopping ball on the line.
One point awarded for successfully doing a Zico, Spin, Screw, Fake Kick

Extra point for outside of the foot pass through the cones.

Name some catch phrases of basic passing - heel down/toe up, lock ankle with toe out, etc.

Pick up a cone. Must use exactly 5 touches to get back to the coach.
