March 20, 2007 at the Urbana Regional Public Library
Attendance: Dave Ward, Harry Hurst, Karen Selwyn, Al Selwyn, Herbert Avila

a) Currently have a record 515 players for Spring 2007.
b) U6 coaches have received rosters and should be contacting players this week.
3) Treasurer’s Report (Herbert Avila):
a) Work for the not-for-profit status of the Association is ongoing.
4) VP’s Report (Harry Hurst):
a) Both Parks/Rec and FCPS have asked that we make sure we clean up fields after we use them.
b) Parks/Rec has requested their waiver forms – Coaches: please get these signed and back to Karen ASAP.
5) Secretary report (Clif Carey): Not present
6) Coaches Education (Dave Ward):
a) National Youth License in Westminster May 29-June 3. This is a tremendous opportunity for all coaches of U6-U12. It is an expensive course. If coaches plan on attending, we will address some sort of reimbursement. Email was forwarded to coaches.
b) NSCAA Goalkeeping Course (for coaches – not players) is being offered via LUYAA on 4/1. Email was forwarded to coaches.
7) Equipment (Herbert Avila):
a) All equipment has been placed in the shed. A few coaches still need to pick up their stuff.
b) Paint still needs to be ordered.
c) When coaches return equipment, please make sure it is relatively clean and in decent shape. One coach returned a dead mouse (in a Gatorade bottle stuffed closed with a goalie jersey) in his/her ball bag. If equipment is beyond use, throw it away and tell Herbert. Returning moldy first aid kits, filthy pinnies, etc. is just a lot more work for Herbert. Remember that he is a volunteer also. So, please go through your equipment before returning.
d) Unloseable J-Hooks – Al has installed on the game goals. Let’s hope they live up to their name. Thanks Al!
8) Merchandise (Harry Hurst):
a) Merchandise has been distributed to most coaches to give to players. Harry will try to get the other coaches on Thursday and give U6 merchandise to David for distribution on March 31.
b) Merchandise will be for sale at the Dutch 4v4 on Saturday (3/24) from 11:00 – 3:00
c) Winter hats – Harry will look into pricing for these.
9) Field maintenance (David Ward):
a) Most goals were moved into place in late February. U14/U19 COACHES – THERE ARE STILL TWO 8x24 KWIK GOALS ON THE LOWER FIELD THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN TO THE UPPER FIELD!!!!!
b) Field line painting is set for Thursday 3/22 at 3:00.
c) Mid-Atlantic Turf should be doing soil testing for fertilization, etc. this spring. Still waiting for an estimate for the resurfacing of the Urbana Park Fields schedule for June 4.
