Minutes for the Urbana Soccer Association meeting   September 16, 2008 at the Urbana Regional Library (Frederick County Public Libraries does not promote or endorse the views of the program sponsors or presenters.)     Attendance:  David Ward, David Grimaldi, Herbert Avila, Mark Keating, Clif Carey, Anh-Tuan Nguyenkhoa   The meeting was called to order at 7:25P.   1. Minutes Approval (All) Last meeting was for all coaches for start of season; nothing to approve 2. Registrar's Report (Terri L.) David W. - cleared wait list and processed any refunds 3. Treasurer's Report (Herbert) Operating fund at $6243.82; sponsor dollars are pending 4. VP's Report (Harry) Nothing to report 5. Secretary's Report (Anh-Tuan) Nothing to report 6. Coaches Education (David) D License - 11/23,23 12/6,7 Lexington Park, MD 20653 7. Equipment Report (David) Anh-Tuan N. - needed more compress pack due to more aggressive play 8. Merchandise (Harry) David W. – flip-flops were a hit at Dutch 4v4 9. Field Maintenance (David) Parks/Rec aerated and fertilized both fields; Mid-Atlantic seeded Lower Field - Additional work was done due to the burn from the original compost maintenance Look into sand to retain moisture; consider proper grit size 10/27 - vertadrain/seed/fertilize Upper/Lower/WKMS #1 10/27 - all UPK fields and WKMS #1 will be closed; find alternative practice locations 10. Goal Maintenance (David) David re-attached J-hooks to the game goals Fixed all broken 4v4 goals (please put them away correctly!!!) NOTICE - CPSC recall on Regent Sports nets [MacGregor and Mitre goals] 11. FC Frederick (David) Next meeting is TBD - need to follow up with FCF board 12. SFCYAF (David) Met week of 9/8 - fields behind UHS should be ready in Fall 2009. 13. UHS Nights (David) Monday 9/21 - UHS Boys vs. Franklin. Varsity only at 5:30 Thursday 9/25 - UHS Girls vs. Archbishop Spalding. JV at 5:00, Varsity at 6:45.   14. Fall Play Days - Comments (David) Dutch 4v4 and Play Day Games - Play Day had relatively low team roster attendance 15. Tournaments (David) U10+ - ALL TEAMS in FCYSL for November 8,9 U8 - ALL TEAMS in DNL Festival at Carroll Manor on 10/25 Schedule is still TBD 16. Participation Awards (Kim) David W. - players want participation trophies   17. New business (All) David W. - DC United Game Night was fun even though the match ended 2-2 Clif C. - Where are some of the D1 teams from other associations going? BBSL, MSI, PA? Herbert. A. - Lost some players [dropped out], leaving 8 to 9 players.  Do we supplement the team from other teams [U10CD1, U12CD2, U12FD2, etc.] and forfeit the games, or disband the team and disperse the players.  Neither option is ideal but we should do what is best for the players and team(s). 18.
