10.  Spring 2008 Comments (All)

a.       Went well overall

d.   Clif was extremely happy (and proud) of his season and the way his players came together as a team.

e.       Coaches who played in the Mid-Atlantic Cup were very happy with the level of play and the chance to get to play against highly competitive teams.

11.  FC Frederick (David)

a.       Next meeting is Tuesday, June 24, 8:00P at Brewer’s Alley.  We need to vote go/no-go and determine next steps.

a.       Frederick County (UHS) – June 23-27

b.      UK Elite – July 7-11

13.  Tournament Results (David)

a.       MSC 4v4 on Monday May 26 – no one played

b.   MAYAA U8 on Saturday June 7 – we withdrew all of our teams because of MAYAA’s insistence that three of our teams play in the top division. This has been a chronic problem with this tournament and it was decided to no longer support them. We need to discuss with LUYAA and CMAA to find a suitable alternative for Fall 2008 and beyond for our U8 Double Nickel League.

c.      MAYAA U14 on Saturday June 14 – no one played

d.       Mid-Atlantic Cup on Saturday/Sunday June 14/15 – David W., Robin H., Cliff C., Mark K., Herbert A. had teams entered. All were competitive.

16.  July Meeting will be July 22!!!!

17.  Fall 2008 Budget (David)

a.       Enrollment down, may survey to find out why; reviewed numbers

b.       Will check into why some coaches are not getting the Success in Soccer magazine

c.      Need to buy 4v4 awards

d.      Budget is short approximately $8,000 for full field maintenance (estimated at $22,000 which includes dollars forward for the June seeding). $22,000 was approved with the caveat that we will remove money from this line item if it is not available (and cut fall field maintenance appropriately). Hopefully, we’ll get more donations, player registrations, etc. and be able to fully fund fall seedings at Urbana Park and WKMS.

e.        Voted and approved as submitted.

18.  New business (All)

a.       MSYSA meeting; met new state staff

b.      Consider Top Soccer setup for future. Top Soccer is a soccer program for disabled youth. David will take the necessary classes if they are available in our area with the intent of running a Top Soccer program in conjunction with the UHS soccer programs.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:55P.
