Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What is the USA? The USA is the Urbana Soccer Association - a youth soccer organization based in Urbana in Frederick County, Maryland. Over the years we have grown to an organization encompassing over 600 soccer players in age groups ranging from U6 all the way to U19 . Who sponsors the USA? The USA is an all-volunteer, self-supporting organization run by the players' parents. Team Sponsors  are welcome and should contact the sponsorship coordinator for more information. When does the USA offer soccer? There are two soccer seasons per soccer year - Fall and Spring. The Fall season starts the beginning of August (with registration in June) and runs through early November. The Spring season starts the beginning of March (with registration in January) and runs through mid June. What types of teams does the USA offer? The U6 age group plays inhouse, instructional soccer. The U8 age group plays recreational soccer in the local Double Nickel (5v5) League. U10 and older age groups play travel soccer in the Frederick County Youth Soccer League (FCYSL)  with both Division 1 and 2 offered in each age group. Division 1 teams are, generally, formed on the basis of tryouts. Is my child guaranteed a position on a USA team? As much as is humanly possible, all players registered before the registration deadline will be placed on a team. There have been times when the number of players registered is insufficient to make a team - in these cases, we'll contact other local organizations to try and find a spot for your child there. How much will it cost? Registration costs run between $65-$105 per season depending on age group. Your child will need the following equipment: water bottle ($5), molded rubber cleats ($20-150), shin guards ($10-30), soccer socks for practice ($5-10) and soccer ball ($10-30). What size soccer ball does my child need? Size 3 for U6 and U8; size 4 for U10 and U12; size 5 for U14 and older.
