Minutes for the Urbana Soccer Association meeting July 17, 2007 at the Urbana Regional Library (Frederick County Public Libraries does not promote or endorse the views of the program sponsors or presenters).   Attendance: David Ward, Al Selwyn, Karen Selwyn, Mark Keating, Darren Heavner, Clif Carey   The meeting was called to order at 7:19p   1)     The minutes from the June 2007 meeting were not available.   2)     Registrars Report (Karen Selwyn):  a)     430 registered, need a U14 Coed D2 coach   3)     Treasurers Report (Herbert Avila):  No report   4)     VP’s Report (Harry Hurst):  No report   5)     Secretary report (Clif Carey): nothing to note   6)     Coaches Education (David Ward): a)     FCYSL Sportsmanship Class - ALL coaches AND assistants are required to attend this once in their lifetime (so if you haven't gone yet, please plan on attending one of the below courses): Monday 8/13 at 7:00PM Myersville ES or Saturday 8/25 at 9:00AM Myersville ES.  To register, send David (david.ward@jdsu.com) an email. (1)   August 10-12 Oakdale MS (both courses offered at the same time). 7)     Equipment (Herbert Avila): TBA   a)     Merchandise (Harry Hurst): TBA   8)     Field maintenance (David): a)     Fields need water and are growing well b)     Beginning of season goal moving will occur in two shifts i)      Urbana Park (Upper and Lower): Saturday, July 28 at 10:00am   9)     Goal Maintenance (David): a)     Unlosable J-hooks need stronger lanyards b)     Repairs are continuing – 4 v 4 goals need many repairs   10)  McDonald’s SoccerFest 4v4 – June 30-July 1 fun activity for all   11)  Fall 2007 U8s – 5 v 5 with LUYAA:  2 FCF coaches will run some of our U8 practice sessions – this helps USA & FCF for player and coach development   12)  Fall 2007 Kickoff Week – July 30 thru August 3.  We have 69 % participation.  U10’s will meet at Urbana Elementary 6-8pm, U12’s Urbana Lower field 5:30-8:30pm, and U14’s Urbana Upper field 5:30-8:30pm.             13)  Waivers (David): to be mailed.  U10/12/14 will be collected at the kick-off week, and U6/8’s collected via coaches   14)  Summer Pick-up Games (David): a)    Adult through Aug 27. Going well b)    Youth (U10-U14) Last day July 23.
